Dear Friend,
As the Department of Elections has processed a significant number of ballots at this time, I am proud to say that our campaign was a success and am looking forward to continuing my service as San Francisco’s District Attorney.
I want to thank San Francisco voters for providing me with this opportunity to continue my work to make our city safer. We can all agree that putting violent offenders behind bars and innovating to create alternatives to incarceration for non-violent, low-level offenses, is key to achieving this goal. I remain dedicated to implementing restorative justice models, increasing the prosecution of homicides, expanding outreach and support services to victims, and working with the schools and community to keep kids away from crime.
I want to thank my wife Fabiola who has been by my side through these past nine months, and my daughters Monique and Steffi, for their unwavering support. I want to thank all the people I work with every day in the DA’s office. They are the heroes whose talent, dedication and compassion never cease to amaze me. Our success would not have been possible without the support of so many of you who believed in me and spent hours outside grocery stores, at Muni stops, phoning voters and knocking on doors, and the contributors to my campaign who helped me reach out to thousands of voters to share my record and my priorities. I am grateful to Sharmin Bock, David Onek, Vu Trinh and Bill Fazio for creating a meaningful dialogue about public safety and sharing their ideas with San Franciscans.
Thank you!!
George Gascón
